# Add checklists to task descriptions

Task descriptions now support checkbox lists, including when written in Markdown, and those checks stay intact when a description syncs with Linear. Teams can keep a simple action list beside the task itself. 

Task descriptions support checkbox lists. Add them from the block menu or paste Markdown checkbox syntax.

When a task description syncs with Linear, its checkboxes stay in place when the issue comes back. The checklist remains part of the task, not a separate note to maintain.
